goal is to bring people together in a wholesome homespun atmosphere.

Steven the Pretty Good

Hillbilly Bobs Taste of the Past
Hillbilly Bob’s Taste of the Past will be on the midway offering up homemade root beer and cream soda, and will display a liquor still replica.

The Amazing Anastasini Thrill Show is returning.

Since 1877, Anastasinis have been delighting audiences all over the globe. Come see them perform nightly.

COLUMBUS COUNTY FAIR CONTESTS
All Contests require a Waiver & Release to be completed by contestants. Some Events have additional requirements. Click below for more details.

School Bands Concert (Tuesday October, 13, 2009) Instead of a high school band competition this year, bands from high schools in the county will get $250 each for performing on Tuesday night. Bands must march in parade to be able to participate in the Concert.

Tug-O-War (Friday & Saturday)(Weigh-In begins at 6:30pm) Sunday, Co-Ed Church Teams (Weigh-in begins at 1:00pm) Come out and enjoy an old fashioned game of Tug of war at the Columbus County Fair Grounds at the Track .

Spelling Bee Grades 3, 4 & 5 on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 7:30pm. Contestants will be selected to represent their school in the spelling bee competition. See your teacher or principal for details and registration information. One winner per grade level, Winners will receive a $100.00 Savings Bond and a trophy.

Spelling Bee
Grades 6, 7 & 8 has been rescheduled for  Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 3:30pm. Contestants will be selected to represent their school in the spelling bee competition. See your teacher or principal for details and registration information. One winner per grade level, Winners will receive a $100.00 Savings Bond and a trophy.

Demolition Derby will be held at the Columbus County Fairgrounds on Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17, 2009. Cars must be on fairgrounds for inspection and qualification from 4:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. each evening. Race begins at 7:00p.m. Any car arriving after 6:00p.m. will be allowed entry only upon acceptance by demo derby officials.

Talent Competition (Friday, October 16, 2009 6:00-9:00)  Age groups will be 5 & under, 6-8, 9-12, 13-15, 16& older. Solos or groups (no heavy metal or acid rock). The Cut-Off Date is Thursday, October 1, 2009.

Shag Contest, Saturday, October 17, 2009- Registration from 6:30- 7:00pm, Divisions: Adult: 17 and older & Junior: 16 and younger. Preliminary Contest will be at 7:30pm and Contest Finals at 9:00pm
