DEMOLITION DERBY RULES & REGULATIONS
NO ENTRY FEES
Registration will start at 4:00p.m. until 6:30p.m. at demolition derby track. Derby will start at 7:00p.m.

FRIDAY & SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15 & 16, 2010

Demolition Derby (Big Cars) Car and Safety Regulations

  1. Any stock hard top automobile or station wagon is allowed.
  2. Safety belts and safety helmets with goggles or shield are required.
  3. All glass must be removed except windshield. If windshield is removed a center bar is required.
  4. Remove all decorative chrome from around car. Leaving door handles on is okay.
  5. Gas tanks are to be inside of car. Six gallon tanks (plastic or metal) are acceptable. Tanks must be properly secured. Tanks in rear of vehicle must have holes punched in them and rinsed clear of gasoline or they must be removed.
  6. No special bumpers, trailer hitches, reinforcements or added weight are allowed on any part of the car.
  7. Drivers Door should be welded with a SOLID WELD, ***
    All other doors should be welded with 4" welds only.
  8. Hoods should be chained shut, Trunks are to be welded with 4" welds only. Tailgates or wagons should be welded (4" welds) so as not to open during  heat.
  9. All sun visors, windshield blades and headliners must be removed.
  10. Fenders may be cut for wheel clearance only.
  11. Batteries should be secured inside vehicle and covered with tarp or heavy material to prevent explosion.
  12. No solid white cars are accepted. Cars may be decorated in any manner as long as it is in good taste. The drivers door "ONLY" should be painted WHITE for derby number to be applied at registration...numbers on first come first serve basis.
  13. Tires filled with AIR ONLY!!!
  14. Radiators must remain in their original positions.
  15. Do not leave vehicle unless instructed to do so by derby flagman...leaving vehicle is disqualification (stay with car until it has been removed from the track)
  16. ANY CAR CATCHING FIRE THAT STOPS THE EVENT IS AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED FOR THAT HEAT.
  17. All cars must immediately stop at sound of horn, light or flagman
  18. All trunks and hoods must have a hole cut at least 12" in diameter. 

Demolition Derby (Small Cars) Safety Regulations

  1. To qualify as a small car, measure from center of wheels: CAN NOT MEASURE LONGER THAN 103". 

  2. All regulations #2 through 18 above are required.

    *** CARS WILL "ONLY" BE ACCEPTED FROM SURROUNDING COUNTIES***

**3rd ANNUAL ** Ladies Powder PUFF - Saturday night "Only" Must have 6 cars.
** Big Cars ONLY***

Demolition Derby will be held at the Columbus County Fairgrounds on Friday, October 16 & Saturday, October 17. Cars must be on fairgrounds for inspection and qualification from 4:00 until 6:00 pm each evening. Race begins at 7:00 pm. Any car arriving after 6:00 pm will be allowed entry only upon acceptance by demo derby officials. The decision of demo derby officials on ANY policy or regulations is Final!!!
